  5. >  Pictures often look better when printed than when viewed on the screen.  You should print the picture to determine if its appearance is acceptable.

  7. >  You can use the HP PicturePlace Editor software to erase small flaws, crop the picture, straighten the picture, and make other minor corrections.  However, you cannot adjust the exposure of the picture because that is determined when the picture is scanned.  For editing instructions, see How to Edit a Picture.

  9. >  Try scanning the picture again to make certain the printer selection is correct when the scan occurs because that influences the appearance of a printed picture.  When scanning the picture with the HP PictureScan software, specify the type of printer by using the Options button.  See HP PictureScan's help topics for detailed instructions.

  11. >  Try scanning the picture again to make certain the picture type selected for the scan is the best choice because that influences the appearance of a printed picture.  If identified as a Drawing, the scanned picture uses only black and white.  If identified as a Photograph, the scanned picture also includes shades of gray.  When scanning the picture, with the HP PictureScan software, the picture type is determined automatically but you can alter it by using the Options button.  See HP PictureScan's help topics for detailed instructions.
